The Holy Woman's Resolve (聖女の決意, Seijo no Ketsui) is the fourteenth chapter of the En En no Shōbōtai series.
Summary
As Shinra apologises for stumbling upon Iris during her purifying ritual, he asks if she's alright, to which she pulls a fake smile to ensure to Shinra that she is. After talking to Arthur to gather his opinion about whether she seems off in any way, Maki bursts through the door exclaiming that Iris has run off somewhere. Meanwhile, at the 5th Special Fire Fighting Industrial Complex, Iris asks to talk to Hibana personally. When confronted, Iris claims what Hibana is doing, meaning the illegal research on the Flame Humans, is sinful and a violation to the Sun God that they originally worshiped at The Holy Sol Temple. Hibana reacts violently and rips off the habit that Iris is wearing, claiming she isn't worthy of wearing such a pristine and undefiled outfit. As Hibana grasps Iris' face, with an intimidating smile, Hibana goes on to say that a sister inside of a Special Fire Brigade is nothing but a decoration to it, and doesn't serve any purpose; and that the only real things that exist in this world are demons such as herself. Hibana then tells her brigadiers to use Iris as bait to draw in the 8th Special Fire Brigade purposely, until she heard a loud thump outside the Industrial Complex. Outside, what was first thought to be a mortar shot by the guards, was actually Shinra, asserting his presence to save Iris from the 5th Brigade.
